KALEKÖY-SİMENA-DEMRE
Kaleköy is a village of Demre. Its name means Castle Village. Kaleköy is locally just called as 'Kale'. It is located between Kaş and Demre. Kaleköy faces the island of Kekova. The village is in the middle of Lycian Necropolis. Kaleköy is a popular yachting destination also. Its ancient name is Simena. Simena has cultural,geographical and historical importance. It is also a touristic attraction for not only native but also foreign tourists. Simena has ruins from Hellenistic Period,Roma Period, Byzantine Period and Classic Period.
