Chickpeas

 

Chickpeas are a very important source of agriculture in Antalya. It only grows for only one year. It can grow to 50 cm long in Turkey. The seeds can be beige, green or sometimes black. It is an easy plant to grow so it is preferred commonly by the farmers. It doesn't need water and it doesn't care about the quality of land. It means that it can grow everywhere. But it likes hot weather. If the weather isn't hot enough, the revenue can't be enough. You can eat the chickpeas green or you can wait for them to dry and you can use them in the meals. It is very similar to peas in terms of colour and shape. It is also mostly used for animal food or in other words to feed the animals. It is very nutritious.
