Arykanda

Arykanda is an ancient Lycian city. It is in Antalya in Mediterranean Region of Turkey. It dates back as far as the 2nd millennium BC. The oldest remains are from the 6th or 5th century. The site has been dug since 1971. Here it is believed that Gods and Goddesses are worshipped. Arykanda is on the way between Elmalı and Finike. Arycanda survived through Byzantine times. Today Arykanda is listed as Catholic Church. It is now vacant but throughout history ,it has played an important role in different ways.
